The seller does not carry Pepsi in his store because of the offensive logo

An Alabama store owner made a decision that divided people into two camps for an online debate that took place over the sale of Pepsi products.

Phillip Stewart, the owner of S&Z Grocery, explained that he simply couldn’t sell something that he himself was against, and that’s the NFL, whose logo was printed on the products in question.

Speaking to WAFF, he said, “I don’t want to support them in any way, because I feel like it’s just wrong.” He then added: “I can’t in good conscience sell the product, because it does have the logo on it.

Steward informed customers that he would remove the products because he did not agree with NFL athletes showing disrespect to the flag during the national anthem.

A number of players were taking a knee during the anthem as a form of protest against police brutality and the treatment of people of color.

Stewart explained that he perfectly understands what the athletes were protesting about, but he believed “there are other ways to deal with it.”

“This has brought attention to it. I’m sure it is good that comes from this, I just don’t agree with the tactic,” he said.

This owner had nothing against the purpose of the protest or Pepsi. On the contrary, he continues selling their products, just not the ones with the NFL logo on them.

As some people believed Stewart’s decision was silly, there were also those who praised him for standing up for his beliefs.
