Actress Annie Wersching died at age 45 of cancer early Sunday morning, her publicist, Craig Schneider, said.
She was best known for her role as FBI agent Renee Walker in the series “24”. Wersching also provided the voice for Tess in the video game “The Last of Us”.
Wersching appeared regularly in television dramas. In 2007, she played Amelia Joffe in General Hospital. Her breakout role came in 2008 when she portrayed FBI agent Renee Walker on Fox’s hit show 24, starring alongside Kiefer Sutherland during seasons seven and eight.
Some of Wersching’s television projects include her role as the love interest of Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) in the 2014 Amazon Prime series Bosch and a recurring role as the evil vampire Lily Salvatore on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries.
Wersching was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, according to Deadline, and continued to work despite it. She is survived by her husband, actor Stephen Full, and three sons. A page to support her financially has been set up for her family online.
