Madonna’s brother dies, he was homeless and addicted to alcohol

Madonna’s older brother, Anthony Ciccone, has passed away at the age of 66, while the news of his death has been confirmed by Joe Henry, the husband of the singer’s older sister, Melanie Ciccone.

“My brother-in-law, Anthony Gerard Ciccone, left us last night. I know him since I was 15 years old. Anthony was a complex character, but I loved and understood him better than I was ever willing to tell them,” the statement reads.

Anthony’s alcoholism was publicly documented when it was reported more than 10 years ago that he had been living under a bridge in Michigan for years and his family allegedly stopped helping him.

In 2017, the Daily Mail wrote that he had successfully completed a certain type of rehabilitation program.

Anthony publicly accused his sister Madonna and other family members of abandoning him.

However, the queen of pop is believed to have approached him in various ways and paid for his stay in rehab in Texas.
