Florida Woman Gets a Second Chance at Life After Surgeons Remove a 104-Pound Ovarian Cyst
For years, 20-year-old Allison Fisher from Florida struggled with persistent abdominal pain, unusual weight gain, and severe discomfort. What many assumed was simply a weight issue turned out to be something far more serious — a massive ovarian cyst weighing an astonishing 104 pounds.

Allison first began experiencing symptoms in 2020, including irregular bleeding, stomach pain, and a steadily growing abdomen. Fear, financial concerns, and previous experiences of having her symptoms dismissed led her to delay seeking medical help. As time passed, the condition worsened dramatically.
“I felt like I was pregnant with ten kids,” Allison recalled. “It felt like all my organs were being crushed.”

The growing mass eventually became so large that it affected her breathing and made everyday activities nearly impossible. Standing for more than a few minutes was difficult, and even simple movements caused discomfort.
In late 2022, Allison finally sought medical attention. Doctors discovered a giant ovarian tumor filled with approximately 46 liters of fluid. The mass was immediately identified as a serious threat to her health and required urgent surgery.
A specialized surgical team successfully removed the 104-pound tumor using advanced minimally invasive techniques. During the procedure, surgeons were also able to save one of Allison’s ovaries, preserving her future fertility.

Following the operation, Allison described the experience as a “second chance at life.” She can now move more comfortably, enjoy everyday activities, and focus on improving her overall health.
Her story serves as a powerful reminder about the importance of listening to your body and seeking medical advice when something feels wrong. While ovarian cysts are relatively common and often harmless, persistent symptoms such as abdominal swelling, pain, bloating, or irregular menstrual cycles should never be ignored.
Today, Allison hopes her experience will encourage others not to let fear prevent them from seeking medical care. By sharing her journey, she aims to raise awareness and inspire people to prioritize their health before a condition becomes life-threatening.
