Everyone knows Randy Travis, but few know that he suffered for many years after being in a coma due to severe cardiomyopathy.
Days passed and the doctors lost hope that he would return to life. They asked his wife to take off life support, but her reaction was unexpected.
Mary Davis Travis said his condition was changing day by day and one day there was no sign of life from him. “Life was minute to minute. They said ‘pull the plug, there’s no hope.’
But he decided not to listen to them and do as his heart told him. Mary instead gave her husband time to recover. Every risk was worth considering.
“At this point, the one to two-percent chance is [a] 100-percent chance over zero. I prayed hard, ‘God, please let me have him back, anyway, shape or form.'”
She begs God a lot to bring you back to her. Her prayer was heard and he began to recover little by little. But apparently, the challenges had just begun.
He was unable to speak or walk which made his recovery even more difficult, Mary and Rany’s family were always there to support him during these difficult days.
It took you four years to recover. Randy still has a love for music even though he has difficulty speaking. He is learning how to play the guitar.
Only time will decide if Randy will be able to be a part of music again, although he is happy for every victory he has achieved.
“I think our goal for five years is to remain hopeful and keep our heads up high and not throw in the towel and be happy with wherever God has us. If it’s back up on that stage singing, hallelujah.”
We wish Randy a speedy recovery and long life for him and his wife.
The doctors say that he will not survive, but his wife surprises with her decision
